it's been months, i know. i got home from paris and PA and hit the ground running. My good friend claire moved to LA from new york and we're starting a company. we're starting with 12 quilts. it's been fun and challenging and new. we are working under the name HOPEWELL. here's a little peek at our process...
we began with a lot of brainstorming and bringing some of her pottery together with the linen napkins i made her and her husband for their wedding. we feel like there is something really great at that intersection.
because claire is an amazing painter with an incredible understanding of color, i took her fabric shopping.
we took one of her watercolor sketches and began laying it out with fabrics.
next we designed a label and logo.
now we're producing our first 12 samples.
hopefully i'll have more information soon and i promise, i'm working on getting the envelope quilt pattern finished too!
I love the colours you have picked for your quilts. Love your style, so I'm sure they will all be great. Good luck with your new venture! Oh, and by the way, I adore your envelope quilt, so if you want a pattern tester , I would be more than willing.

Good luck!!! I still treasure the little quilt you made for my Pea-Pie before we left LA. Can I say I have an original Hopewell quilt? :) Seriously, though. Good luck! I hope it takes off beyond your wildest dreams! :)

I like the fabrics you've chosen. The colors are appealing and I feel more relaxed by just looking at them.
The shades are inspiring so you should be able to come up with a lot of creative ideas based on different combinations of the colors that you have to work with.
I wish you had included a picture of the water color painting that was done as the basis for the quilt.
I like your little model there ;-)They're showing how much fun owning one of your quilts will be.
